Clark Gable was born on February 1, 1901 and died on November 16, 1960 following a heart attack. He was crowned 'King of Hollywood' after a poll of 20 million entertainment fans was taken in 1938, naming him the victor. At his 36th birthday party, Judy Garland sang "Dear Mr. Gable (You Made Me Love You)." His third wife was actress Carole Lombard, and the two were the darling couple of Hollywood. Their relationship tragically ended when Lombard was killed in a plane accident in 1942. He took three years off from films and joined the Army Air Corps during World War II. His most famous part is that of Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind.
